Illustration for a tale I wrote, La Petite Fille aux Cheveux d'or (that could be translated as The Little Girl with Golden Hair).

SHORT SUMMARY
THE LITTLE GIRL WITH GOLDEN HAIR

It's the tale of a young girl with beautiful blonde hair who, getting for the first time the authorization to go in the forest, decides to make bouquet of cute yellow flowers for her mother who gave her a red ribbon in present.

At first, she meets a red bird who recommends her to be wise in the woods, as she should not talk to anyone she doesn't know.

She then meets a rabbit as she picks a flower that occurs to be his. She exchanges a lock of her hair for it, and both leave.

She meets the red bird again. The bird advises her to be wiser and to keep speaking with nobody. Hair gets cut easier than it grows, the bird says.

She then meets the fox as she picks a flower that occurs to be his. She exchanges some locks of hair for it, and both leave.

She meets the red bird a third time. The bird advises her to be wiser and to speak with nobody. Hair gets cut easier than it grows, the bird says again.

She then meets the wolf as she picks a flower that occurs to be his. As she exchanges a tuft of hair for it, the wolf decides to take it all, tearing away all her beautiful golden hair. Her now torn red ribbon falls on the ground, unable to stay on her bald head.

The girl, in tears, gets lost in the woods as the night falls.

The next day, as she tries to come back home, she founds a path of red feathers. She follows it, finds her home, knocks at the door.

Her mother sees her and her bald head, let her go inside, and locks the door, forever.

This story is about innocence, trust, decision and maturity. It implies the young girl (who is an metaphor of anyone going through physical and mental puberty) gets raped by the ''wolf'', after having sexual relations with the ''rabbit'', the ''fox'', and many other people (each flower symbolizes a defloration). As for the red bird, it is a representation of surveillance and kindness (linked with the mother of the young girl). And the story goes on many levels...

All this in a short tale. I think I managed to do it right.

I'm also going to make a short movie about his story for my university admission. It will be fun to do, I'm sure of it.

Wow that's amazing! The metaphor is really deep and I can see it in the story! This reminds me of Greek Mythology because the stories were kind of confusing and sometimes messed up but I remember my teacher saying that I should not take anything they write literally. Beautifully done! I love the graphic style of the story (the picture)! :D
